“Bowls Through The Ages Pageant and Tournament”

It’s now just 6 weeks until our ” Bowls Through The Ages Pageant and Tournament” on Saturday the 25th of July. The twenty four teams of Ladies, Gents and Juniors for the tournament have now been assembled along with the pipe band who will lead the Pageant Parade around Garrowhill Park, all of whom will be in costume.
As well as a Pageant Parade, a Bowls Through The Ages” presentation on the green and a bowls tournament other events on the day will include a classic car rally, and a Bowls and Bowls Manufacturing Through The Ages exhibition in the Community Hall along with fun activities for the younger members of the community.
So come along and join in for what will be a fun filled day celebrating the game of bowls which will have a few unexpected twists and surprises.

Garrowhill Bowling Club are delighted to be able to hold our “ Bowls Through the Ages Pageant and Tournament” as part of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026 Festival.
Our Pageant and Tournament aims, supported by Glasgow Life, Glasgow City Council , sportscotland and Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, aims to show how Bowls has been at the heart of communities since the games inception 7000 years ago and up until the present day in the United Kingdom and right across the 56 countries that make up the Commonwealth.
Taking place on Saturday the 25th of July 2026 at Garrowhill Bowling Club the Pageant and Tournament aims on the day to bring together the young and not so young, experienced bowlers and first time players as a gathering from a wide range of backgrounds and groups in the community for an inclusive, sociable fun day celebrating the game of bowls and the long lasting influence that Glasgow has had on the sport world wide.
